My husband and I used this portable cable/ cordless, circular saw to build our god-son a storage play box for his countless toys at our home. It doesn't come with a battery so you'll have to pick one up. That's the only thing con. It cuts straight and is easy to handle. Looking forward to using it for future projects. I would recommend this product.

Handy

I'm reviewing a porter cable battery operated circular saw. I find the saw to be powerful for a battery operated circular saw. I find the saw to be lightweight and easy to maneuver making it easy for accurate cuts. My overall experience with it is positive. Batteries do need to be purchased separately and can be purchased at Walmart.

I am very happy with its performance and it is a great addition to my cordless tools. It is nice to leave the extension cords in the garage. It is light weight but powerful and the blade cuts very well through the wood furniture I used it with.
The only issue I have with it is the blade does not match the line guide. However, I will fix that myself as this is such a great little saw. This is the one thing that brought all 4 of my sons to the garage wanting to help..I love it!

Such a Great Saw!

I've had this tool for a year now and works fine.  I've used for cutting plywood and 2x4s and had no issues.  So I think it's appropriate for light work around the house and is light and easy to use. However, when ripping somewhat wet 2x6s it struggled - but eventually got the job done.  I would not recommend it if you are building a deck as you might be pushing it beyond its capabilities.

The great thing about this circular saw of this flexibility of no cord for the best maneuverability in a job. No cords to get tangled. The annoying thing is that the saw does use a lot of power so have at least two batteries on hand. Recently tried out my new saw on a small job and luckily since I own other cordless tools, was able to switch to another battery quickly and not wait to charge up the battery before continuing. Also note the battery is sold separately. Despite thus the ability to work unhindered is worth the hassle.

Cordless for great flexibility

This product is a one out of three purchase. It does not come in a complete set and you must make two additional purchases in order to have a working product. The first additional product you need is the associated 20V battery. I thought I had the right battery because I have other products within this line, but this requires a smaller battery than what I have. Secondly, you will need the battery charging station, as it does not come with it and must be purchased separately from even the battery itself. Again, you specifically need the battery charger for the 20V battery, it is not interchangeable between the various battery sizes. Because of this reason I do not like how much space the batteries will take up for charging and use. I would like to see this product with one charging station that fits all the batteries no matter the size, or a single battery system that fits all of the products within the line so that storage space will not be an issue. Also, because of the separation of products, this product, especially if it is a gift, is costlier than meets the eye. If you want the convenience of this saw, you should be ready to shell out, at least, an additional $100 to complete this set for actual use, otherwise it is a useless purchase. It looks great and I would like to use it, but I would have to purchase 2 additional parts for that to even see if I like it.

Additional Purchases Needed!!!

Used it on little jobs and worked great for 5 months on little home projects. Used it the last month building a shed and got to the last cut and it locked up like the brake for removing the blade is stuck. No choice but to get a new one since I have all the other tools and batteries in the kit. Have loved the rest of the kit and the saw till now. Slightly more difficult to find a 6.5 inch blade than the 7 1/4

Loved the saw till it locked up after 6 months

I have most of the 20v range of PC tools and love them but this one disappoints.  It just doesn't have the power.  It really struggles cutting 3/4" ply and bogs down trying to get through a 2x4 and you definitely need the 4ah batteries as it tears through them.  The foot plate is attached to the housing very poorly causing a lot of sideways flex when cutting.  The locking lever for cut depth adjustment feels like it will break easily and was positioned in a way that when locked for deep cuts sticks below the foot plate so I had to remove the e-clip and re-position it. I hope PC will address these issues and upgrade this saw.

Disappointing saw

The PORTER CABLE PCC660B 20V MAX Lithium-Ion 6-1/2-Inch Cordless Circular Saw (Bare Tool / Battery Sold Separately) weighs approximately six and a half pounds. Keep y in my this is without a battery. Which brings me to the main issue I have with this product and my ability to review it; the additional purchases needed to work it. While my husband says that appears to be durably made, and the grip feels good without a battery to operate it there is no way to tell how it holds up in use. He also liked the look of the blade as well as the claim of a beveling shoe that has the ability to pivot at a 50◦ degree angle. But again, without a battery there is no way to test this without spending an additional 20 – 30 dollars for the battery and another 30 plus dollars for a charging port. Unfortunately, the batteries from other power tool brands do not work on this tool. So, while I would love to tell how great or how awful the PORTER CABLE PCC660B 20V MAX Lithium-Ion 6-1/2-Inch Cordless Circular Saw (Bare Tool / Battery Sold Separately) actually performs, I cannot, because I was not able to afford the additional battery need to operate the tool. I cannot recommend this product. I must say I am disappointed in Porter Cable and well as Sparks Reviewer for not providing what is needed in order to operate and evaluate products.

Need to purchase additional items to make work.

I have an older Porter cable saw that the motor is going out on and it has been a good reliable saw for several years. So, I ordered this one, and from day one it didn't cut straight.   I thought it was the cheap blade it came with and so I didn't contact the company for a return. I finally had time and I ordered a new Diablo blade like I use with my old Porter cable and it still doesn't cut straight. There's no quality control nowadays.
